Contests and Grants!

CYBERMISSION is a web-based science, math and technology competition for 6th,
7th, 8th and 9th grade teams. Your team will propose a solution to a real problem
in your community and compete for regional and national awards.
eCYBERMISSION challenges you to explore how science, math and technology
work in your world.

BOB THE BUNNY CARTOON COMPETITION
Bob the Bunny's Cartoon Competition, sponsored by Volvo Adventure in
partnership with the United Nations Environment Program, is aimed at children
ages 10 to 12 years old. To enter, students form a team of one to three members,
identify a local environmental issue, and create an A4 cartoon strip illustrating the
issue and actions that they might take to solve it. The winning team will be sent to
the 2012 Volvo Adventure final in Goteborg, Sweden. The submissions should be
sent before the competition deadline of 24:00 CET on February 28 2012.
Projects

Journey North  Fall's Journey South is about to Begin! Free Project Tracks
Migrations, Plants, and Seasons* Teachers and students in K-12 classrooms
are invited to sign up now for Journey North's 17th annual global study of
wildlife migration and seasonal change. A *free* Internet-based citizen
science project, Journey North enables students in more than 23,000 schools
to watch the seasons unfold. Students monitor migration patterns of monarch
butterflies, hummingbirds, whooping cranes, and other animals; the blooming
of plants; and changing sunlight, temperatures, and other signs of the
seasons.

Datastreme Project  We are looking for teachers who are interested in
participating in DataStremeAtmosphere, a teacher enhancement program of
the American Meteorological Society and supported by the National Science
Foundation. For information on the on-line course offered in Connecticut,
